Ahead of the execution of the Bali Nine, Black Sabbath Guitarist Write to Jokowi
Not only Australian state leaders requesting the cancellation of the execution, but now the musicians of the world, too, cast the same request to the President Joko Widodo. Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, asked President Jokowi revisit execution.
Iommi doing the same thing that has been done by the British metal band, Napalm Death. Iommi wrote Jokowi to consider the execution to be meted out to Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.
Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran is on death row cases related to drug smuggling heroin weighing 8.2 kilograms manifold in 2005. They are members of the Bali Nine syndicate.
Iommi stated clemency petition against both suspects that the letter comes letterhead and signature. The news was published in the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH), Wednesday (03/04/2015). The letter was written in English, and translated, and then submitted to the Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia by Australian officials.
"Indonesian prison system has been very successful change Andrew and Myuran," Iommi wrote in his letter. "I ask you, as a person who is forgiving, to pay attention to changes in themselves."
